How amazing is Black Friday?! I’ve always loved Black Friday shopping! But let’s get real… is there anyone that REALLY loves getting up at 4:30 to save 40% on that season’s must-haves? I’ve done it, but it was always more about spending time with my mom and sister than it was about finding deals. Once I married Jarrod and the Navy moved us to San Diego, I wasn’t able to do Black Friday with my mom and sister. As a result, my Black Friday shopping picked up more of an online flavor. I loved it, and I realized how much I had been missing out! Today, I almost exclusively do my Black Friday shopping online. It is so much more relaxing to be able to stay at home in comfy PJs and shop multiple stores quickly! In the past, I had to prioritize which deal was most important to me, and sell out to grab that one deal at the expense of other deals I was considering. Too often I struck out on my first choice and was left with no flagship deals, but only small discounts that I could have grabbed at any weekend sale at Kohl’s. Not an ideal result for waking up at 4:30… Nowadays, I much more enjoy waking up early in my favorite PJs, getting a cup of coffee, opening up my computer, turning on the Classic Christmas Pandora station, and shopping till my heart’s content. As a bonus, since we’re back in Ohio for one more Christmas, I’ll be able to share in this new tradition with my mom and sister! No more crowds, no tired feet, no stress, just Christmas!
We are getting ready to host our very first Black Friday sale here at Emmy Mae! We have some amazing things planned for not only Black Friday, but also for Shop Small Saturday and Cyber Monday! You’re here for the sneak peaks. So here we go! We’re going to have the usual promotions (Spend $150 and get a $20 store credit, or spend $200 and get a $40 store credit.) But we’re also planning on some other fun giveaways, contests, and promos along with a couple of doorbusters! We’ll be trickling out more info as we get closer. As engines of growth, new ideas, and local economic development, small businesses are so important to our country and local communities. I have always tried to focus on giving my business to small businesses before giving my coins to the coffers of some large corporations. If you love to support small businesses as much as I do, and are looking for some great and unique gift ideas, here is a list of a few of my favorite small shops! Keep them in mind in this holiday season.

Have you seen our new arrivals that we rolled out this week? This was easily the most popular new arrival collection that we ever curated! I’m going to a gender reveal party today (SOOO EXCITED!) so I had to pick something cute. It’s also going to be about 60 degrees today, so I needed something warmer that wouldn’t keep me too hot. There are tons of darling tops and vests to choose from in this new collection, but today I’m wearing the Emmerson top. This lovely top is perfect. It has some blues and pinks in the floral print, so I’m covered for a gender reveal. It’s made in the USA🇺🇸 (winning!). It has adorable elbow patches, and it has long sleeves without being as heavy as a sweater. Perfect!
This lovely top has been one of our most popular. Grab yours before it’s gone!
